The second part our the National Summit technical visit - Wasterwater Treatment Plant which is located near to the toll bridge.
For your information, the Kuching city centralised sewage project was reported to be worth RM 2.0 billion. It is expected to be carried out in four or five packages to provide coverage to some 90% of the city’s total households. A central sewage treatment plant will be built under package I, which is due for completion in the second quarter of 2012. Its other main components are a trunk sewer (7.7 km), secondary sewer (5.4 km) and tertiary sewer (51.4 km), connections to large properties (127 in number) and shophouses (1,924) and residential houses (782).

Then we gathered at the site office waiting to be brought to the next station. The tunnel drilling underneath the Sungai Sarawak.
The location of the tunnel drilling. According to the site engineers, they have been working 36days (for 24 hours) continuously and it is estimated to reach the other end of the shaft by early end of March.
